Although a rookie behind the decks, Emjay is no new comer to the scene. He’s enjoyed the afterhours/electronica scene since ’99, and became a highly recognizable dancer. You may have seen him gliding & popping around the city over the years. But 2 years ago, Emjay decided it was time to graduate to the booth; a natural trasition for one with that much musical intuition. The many years as a dancer have contributed to a wealth of knowlege of what makes a crowd move. Emjay made a small debut, playing Dj Krete’s Rehab Fridays & Soulstice Saturdays at The End Zone Pub. Since then, he’s been gaining momentum, having held residencies at the Crown Pub, and at Wooly Bully’s alongside Krete & Komrad. Emjay has also put gigs at Twist Ultra Lounge and Level 2 onto his resume. Emjay is now looking toward the horizon for bigger brighter things… As for a sound, Emjay pumps out house that tends to steer clear of bland Four on the Floor but will drop whatever he sees fit. Further more, you can expect more sounds in the near future. From 2step to DnB, Dubstep to Bassline House, Emjay will be adding more genres to his arsenal of tantalizing ear treats.
